To break it down for you, here are three (3) potential scenarios for lawn installation:

1. You’ve already had ground cleared, or old lawn removed.
   The ground is flat and free of debris, we call this a “clean and level site” - this will require a straight Supply and Install, including the application of a soil improver.
   An estimate cost would be between $13 - $ 25 per sqm

2. You’ve moved into a new build or cleared some ground yourself. There’s additional prep work needed, perhaps slight levelling and soil nutrition needed.
   An estimate cost would be between $22 - $35 per sqm

3. Lastly, you need an entire re-do. What’s currently on the ground is now knee high, crispy and a jungle of weeds. Here, we’ll remove and replace, we call this a “box out”
   An estimate cost would be between $32 - $58 per sqm

What are the dependable variables?

• The variety of lawn

• What’s currently on the ground

• Access points

• Levels on the ground (may need to remove or bring in soil)

• The quality of existing soil (may need to include some underlay or similar to improve soil nutrition)

So how about the cost of lawn, with no installation? You are looking between $9.50 - $15 per sqm (dependant on variety) If DIY is more your thing, it can certainly been done.

Remember – Like any plant, roll on grass is alive and needs ground contact & moisture to survive, make sure you have the ground work ready for when your new lawn arrives.

 At the end of the day, like anything that needs preparation work (e.g. Painting your home) the better the preparation, the better the outcome and longevity of your work.
